CereCare Volunteers – Rules & Regulations

Thank you for giving your love to the children of Cerecare!
All volunteers must be willing to accept and abide by the following rules and regulations while volunteering at the CereCare Wellness Center.
1. Rules & Regulations
1.1 Volunteers must accept and abide to the mission statement, basic principles and operating procedures of Hands On Shanghai and CereCare.
1.2 Volunteers must abide by the laws of the country and may not conduct any activities that may be detrimental to the reputation of Hands On Shanghai when serving as a volunteer at CereCare.
1.3 Volunteers may not use Hands On Shanghai or CereCare to conduct any political or religious activities.
2. Voluntary Scope
2.1 Volunteers must abide by the servicing time and voluntary scope as agreed with Hands On Shanghai.
2.2 Volunteers must accept the time and voluntary scope adjustments as may be necessary by Hands On Shanghai.
2.3 Volunteers must abide by the instructions and activities of Hands On Shanghai as well as CereCare teachers and staff during period of service.
2.4 Volunteers may not change the content of program or activities allocated without prior consent from Hands On Shanghai.
2.5 Volunteers may not to bring the children out of the classroom without prior consent from Hands On Shanghai or CereCare.
2.6 Volunteers may not feed children with any food brought in without prior consent from Hands On Shanghai or CereCare.
2.7 Volunteers may not conduct any personal promotion during period of service.
2.8 Volunteers must not do or say anything that will affect the psychological well-being of the children. For example, volunteers should not make comments such as “They are so pathetic, why are they like that?”
2.9 Volunteers should not provide any personal service which is beyond the scope of his/her voluntary scope. Volunteers should not provide his/her contact details to the children or parents of children in CereCare.
2.10 Volunteers should not provide any medical advice or make suggestions or criticize on the medical condition to the children in CereCare.
2.11 Volunteers should not accept interviews from media, government bodies or other social organizations on behalf of Hands On Shanghai or CereCare without the prior permission and authorization of Hands On Shanghai.
3. Reporting Procedures
3.1 All volunteers should report to the security office at CereCare when reporting for service.
3.2 Volunteers who are not able to attend the activity or service allocated should inform Hands On Shanghai in advance.
3.3 Volunteers should inform Hands On Shanghai each time they arrive and leave CereCare.
4. Cleanliness, Safety and Order at CereCare
4.1 No damages to the environment at all times during period of voluntary service will be tolerated.
4.2 Volunteers should ensure the cleanliness and safety of the center and the children at all times period of voluntary service.
4.3 Volunteers are prohibited from smoking and eating during period of voluntary service.
5. Information of Children of CereCare
5.1 Volunteers must not take any photos or video of children without the prior consent of Hands On Shanghai.
5.2 Volunteers must not disclose any information of the children at CereCare to external parties.
6. Information of Volunteers
6.1 Hands On Shanghai has the discretion to disclose the volunteer’s personal information or contact details under circumstances in which it deems necessary.
7. Donations
7.1 Any monetary or in-kind donations should not be given to the teachers or children directly.
7.2 All donations (i.e. monetary or in-kind) should be forwarded to Hands On Shanghai.
