Founded in 2005, The Sunshine Home of Xin Hua Block is a non-profit organization brought forward by Shanghai Municipal Government. It provides professional education, rehabilitation training, special Olympic sports and simple labor for mental challenged people from 16 years old to 35 years old to improve their ability of daily living and capacity of social skills, so that they can go out of their home and involve into our society.
Sunshine Home provides their students many trainings and activities, such as :Education&Training:Adjustment training, Family adjustment training, community adjustment, occupational adjustment, etc.Rehabilitation:Physical Rehabilitation, language rehabilitation, social rehabilitation, education rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, etc.Special Olympic Sports:Track and field, football, table tennis, bowling, basketball, badminton, weight lifting, water sports, golf, etc.Simple labor:Simple processing, environmental protection, dining service, some easy planting or breeding things, etc.
Sunshine Home of Xin Hua Block has been a partner of Hands On Shanghai since June in 2009.
The purpose is to improve and bring more happiness those big”kids” through our activity. They might have the same age like us, but they might not go to any school to learn and play what we play and learn. They are youth and adults from the out looking, but they are only 5-7 years old mentally. They are kind and naïve , most of all, they need us to care and pay more attention. Equally treat them, they will gain more dignity. This program welcome volunteers to bring new ideas and creative thoughts. Volunteer comes regular and stable is strongly recommended. J
Notice for Volunteers
Play simple games, such as bingo games, music chairs, with mental challenged people. And when they are playing games, hlep them and encourage them,
Help mental challenged people to do special olympic sports.
Talk with mental challenged people.
